When you buy tickets for two (2) or more productions at the same time you become automatically eligible for Subscription Pricing (almost a 30% savings!). There are no membership fees or dues, just the price per ticket, per show.

Babes in arms (0-11 months) do not require a ticket for our productions at the Waterfront Theatre. Everyone including babies need a ticket for the Bee Stage.

Early Bird Access Single tickets don’t go on sale until July 11. Get the best seats for the most in-demand shows months in advance

Free Exchanges Not thinking about 2017 yet? We don’t blame you! Subscribers get one free exchange for each show, which means no fees for getting organized later on. Upgrade fee may apply. One free exchange per production. Cannot be exchanged between different productions.

Carousel Theatre for Young People unveils its 2017/2018 Season. Join CTYP for another exciting season on Granville Island with something for everybody, big and little, with all the grand adventure of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the magic of The Velveteen Rabbit, the mischief of The Gruffalo and the tenacity of the great Spirit Horse. The Teen Shakespeare Program’s Romeo and Juliet and We Three on the Bee Stage bookend the season featuring theatre by and for the theatre-makers and theatre-lovers of the next generation.

CTYP’s teen actors take the stage in this epic tragedy of two star-crossed lovers. What’s in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. This timeless and timely tale explores the themes of love and hate, and how prejudice can tear our worlds apart.  The Teen Shakespeare Program is CTYP’s quintessential training program for pre-professional actors; come see the stars of tomorrow on our stage today. All ages are welcome.

November 25-December 31, 2017 at the Waterfront Theatre

C.S Lewis’ first installment of the epic Chronicles of Narnia series bounds on to the CTYP stage this holiday season. Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy discover an old wardrobe that leads to an enchanted land, Narnia, full of mythical creatures, talking animals, quests and secrets. In one of the greatest battles between Good and Evil in children’s literature, the fate of the four children unfolds in a grand, otherworldly adventure. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is recommended for ages 5+.

This charming tale celebrates boundless imagination and the power of belief. With a dash of magic, three actors transform their playspace into a children’s nursery with a rocking horse, a cavalcade of mechanical toys, a kind-hearted fairy and a toy rabbit who is transformed by one little boy’s love. The Velveteen Rabbit is recommended for ages 3-8.

A Musical adaptation of the book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler

April 6-15, 2018 at the Waterfront Theatre

Join Mouse on a daring adventure through the deep dark wood. Searching for hazelnuts, Mouse meets the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and the party mad Snake. Will the story of the terrifying Gruffalo save Mouse from ending up as dinner for these hungry woodland creatures? After all, there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo – is there? The Gruffalo is recommended for ages 3-8.

Showcasing Tall Stories’ distinctive physical, visual performance style, The Gruffalo is full of songs, laughs and scary fun for everyone. Following sell out performances in London’s West End, Broadway’s New Victory Theater & Sydney Opera House, Tall Stories continue to tour the world with this much-loved monster of a show!

April 21-29, 2018 at the Waterfront Theatre

This powerful production follows the adventures of two First Nations children whose family is caught between traditional ways and urban culture. Angelina and Jesse’s lives are changed forever when their grandfather, who lives by the old ways on a prairies reserve, brings them a horse that has mysteriously appeared to him. The children feel an incredible bond to this majestic animal which links them and their dad to their Stoney Nation heritage. Spirit Horse is recommended for ages 8+.

Icon We ThreeWe Three on the Bee Stage

June 5-17, 2018 at the CTYP Bee Stage Studio

A world premiere by award-winning Vancouver playwright Meghan Gardiner, this interactive play explores colour, shapes and friendships. Creating gentle, interactive shows for the very young, the CTYP Bee Stage introduces the littlest theatre-goers to storytelling and music in an intimate drama experience that allows them and their caregivers to enjoy theatre on their own terms. The Bee Stage is recommended for newborns to age 3 and their grown up parents/caregivers.
