Be a Hero to Carousel Theatre

April 20th, 2011

Carousel Theatre is dedicated to inspiring, enlightening and entertaining young people and their families through accessible theatrical experiences that develop audiences and artists.  This year close to 45,000 young people and their families experience the magic of live theatre through our Season of Literary Classics, and over 500 kids have taken part in our Theatre School Classes.

In these challenging economic times- with funding uncertainties on the horizon- it’s more important than ever for arts organizations to have a strong membership base.  When you renew your membership you are helping Carousel Theatre to continue doing the work we do by standing beside us. You’re saying “I believe in what you do, and I support you!” This is imperative to a non-profit organization’s survival, and we hope you’ll consider standing by us – not unlike a dashing heroic figure (who may fly, have a cape and super strength) protects things like kittens, planets, or arts organizations dedicated to inspiring the youth in our community.

But how can I help?!

Well, it’s actually pretty simple. You can call us at Carousel Theatre (604.669.3410) and say “Heck Yes- I want to be a member!”. Or you can fill out a Membership Form and send it in to the office via email, fax, or good ‘ol snail mail.

A membership to Carousel Theatre is only $10.00, and it goes directly into our programming. Some awesome perks of being a member: you’ll be invited to the Annual General Meeting (with voting privileges), be informed of Carousel Theatre events and special discounts, and you will receive $2 off the hourly rental price of our studios for rehearsals, meetings, classes, rehearsals, cabarets, clown schools, etc. We will also list you or your family as one of our Heroes in our production playbills!

Additional donations include a tax-deductible receipt and acknowledgment in playbills for our Season of Literary Classics and our Standing Ovation display at the Waterfront Theatre during our productions. If you’d like to give more of your time and energy, consider becoming a member of the Board of Directors. We are always in need of Volunteers to assist with ushering, special events, sewing costumes, and office support during busy times.

If you have any questions about being a Member of Carousel Theatre, please call Jessie van Rijn at 604.669.3410.
