Audience/Age Policies for our Plays
Age Policies for the 2015/16 Season
At CTYP, we believe that young people should have the very best possible theatre experience. We develop and craft our plays for very specific age groups- each story is a wonderful opportunity to inspire, challenge and learn. To that end, we develop specific age policies for each of our plays. A lot of care and thought is given in choosing these policies. Babies and younger children need a very gentle theatre experience- bright lights, colours and sounds can be startling. Older children are ready to be challenged and immersed in the experience. If you have any questions about our age policies, please give us a call- we’d love to hear from you!
Where the Wild Things Are is for Ages 3+ (no babes in arms or children under 3 except for the special All Ages Performance)
James and the Giant Peach is for Ages 6+ (no babes in arms or children under 6)
Go, Dog. Go! is for Ages 3+ (no babes in arms or children under 3 except for the special All Ages Performances)
The Jungle Book is for Ages 6+ (no babes in arms or children under 7)
Dot & Ziggy (2015) and On My Walk (2016) are for Newborns to Age 3 and their parent(s)/caregiver(s)
Children younger than this are not permitted in the theatre because:
They may become frightened or disruptive. This is unfair to older children and parents who have purchased tickets and are looking forward to being immersed in the theatrical experience. Bright lights, a dark auditiorium and sound effects can be startling and scary for young children, toddlers and infants.
We create and develop our productions for specific age groups. Children younger than three years require specifically designed productions that match their development. We encourage you to bring your children to our productions when they can benefit most from the experience.
All young people under the age of fourteen years must be accompanied by an adult.
– Photography of any kind is not permitted in the theatre
– Please turn off all cell phones for the duration of the performance
