Costume Sale Recap!

          October 21st, 2013

IMG_8658What a wonderful day at CTYP’s Annual Halloween Costume Sale yesterday!

Starting bright and early at 10:00am and going until 2:00pm, we had a great time laughing with patrons over some the hilarious costumes uncovered, sharing stories about where the costumes came from and raising money for inner-city school children.

The costume sale featured costumes from past shows including Spamalot, The Wizard of Oz, and A Year with Frog and Toad. Everyone was very creative in coming up with ideas for what to be for Halloween though the young man who decided to use a hoop skirt and wear a bowl of fruit on his head to be a fruitcake definitely takes the cake.

All of the costumes from our shows hold special memories because of the actors who wore them, the love that went into creating them and because of the characters they represent. Although it was sad to say good-bye to them, we`re glad they have found happy new homes where they can continue to be enjoyed.

A huge thank you to our fabulous volunteers Tessa, Anais, Ashley, Noah and Seamus who came in to either sort IMG_8653through hundreds of costumes or help sell! We couldn`t have done it without you! Finally, thank you to everyone who came out to support our costumes sale. Because of your generosity, 120 young people will now have the opportunity to enjoy live theatre!

Everything we do here at Carousel Theatre for Young People is for the kids and so we really cannot stress enough how much it means to us to be able to share our stories with all children. Thank you for making it possible.

We look forward to seeing you next year!
