Ticket FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much do tickets cost?

Tickets are $29.00/adults, $25.00/students and seniors, and $15.00/kids.

2. Where are you located?

Carousel Theatre is located on Granville Island in Vancouver. Our administration offices, theatre school and rehearsal studios are located at 1411 Cartwright Street on Granville Island, right across the street from the Waterfront Theatre, where we stage our Literary Classics Program.

3. Is there parking near your theatre?

Yes, there is parking. Granville Island has several pay parking lots and many free parking spots that are available for a maximum of 3 hrs. Granville Island is a popular destination in Vancouver, so do leave yourself plenty of time to find parking. Click here to see a map of Granville Island.

4. What is the running time of your performances?

The actual running time varies depending on the production. Please visit individual show pages for exact running times.

5. Do I need to purchase a ticket for my three year old?

Each of Carousel Theatre’s plays are for a certain age group. Please refer to the specific age policies for each production. Everybody must purchase a ticket. Carousel Theatre productions are not suitable for children under the age of 3 years. The live theatre experience, which includes a dark auditorium, bright lights, and sound effects, can be overwhelming for children under the age of 3 years, toddlers and infants.

Babes in arms are not permitted in the theatre, out of courtesy to our audiences and our actors.

6. What are All Ages Performances?

At Carousel Theatre, we recognize that it is sometimes difficult for families to find sitters for their youngest children and that some children under 3 years old may be ready for the live theatre experience, so for certain productions we stage one performance that is ALL AGES. For this one performance only, we keep the auditorium lights on at a low level so that little ones are not frightened of the dark, and we stage a slightly softer, gentler version of the production.

7. Can I exchange my tickets for another performance?

Yes. We will happily exchange tickets purchased directly through our Box Office for another performance of the same show. We require 24 hrs advance notice, and all exchanges are subject to availability. There is a nominal fee for exchanges.

8. Do children perform in your productions?

Carousel Theatre’s Literary Classics Productions are performed by professional adult actors. Occasionally, there may be one or two children in the cast depending on the production. These children are also professional actors.

9. What are your office hours?

Carousel Theatre is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. The Box Office at The Waterfront Theatre opens 1 hour prior to showtime.

10. Do you have wheelchair seating?

Yes. We do have wheelchair seating for our performances. Please let our Box Office know your seating needs at the time of your booking

11. My schedule has changed. Can I get a refund on my tickets?

All ticket sales are final. As long as you contact us at least 24 hrs prior to the date of your performance, we will happily exchange your tickets for another performance of the same show. An exchange fee of $5 applies on the order.

12. How do you find your actors?

Carousel Theatre is a professional theatre company, and we hire actors who are members of the Canadian Actors Equity Association under the terms of the Canadian Theatre Agreement. Each June, Artistic Director Carole Higgins holds general auditions for the upcoming season. Play specific auditions are held by invitation only. If you would like to be considered for an audition please mail your headshot, resume and cover letter. Please note, we do not accept resumes by email or fax.
