Carousel Theatre is holding auditions for their holiday musical Stiles & Drewe’s The 3 Little Pigs, directed by Chris Lam at the Waterfront Theatre. Choreography by Nicole Rose Bond and Musical Direction by Arielle Balance.

When the pigpen starts to look like a real sty, Mama says it’s time to leave and build something new. Help Cha, Siu, and Bao watch for wolves while they use hay, sticks, and bricks to make it in a big, bad world. Returning to our tradition of a fun for the whole family, holiday musical The 3 Little Pigs teaches little ones how success can be achieved through hard work and perseverance. Filled with humour, this endearing tale will leave you squealing with glee and howling with laughter!

Audition Date: July 20, 2022
Auditions will be held in person at Carousel Theatre (Studio B) 1411 Cartwright Street
Masks will be optional during the audition but mandatory in common spaces.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS

Cha, as cast: The oldest of the three little pigs. Popular, athletic, sometimes arrogant. Does not always think things through.

Siu, as cast: The middle of the three little pigs, and the only girl. Feisty, energetic and passionate about environmental issues. Often annoyed by her brothers.

Bau, as cast: The youngest of the three little pigs. Much more brainy than brawny; an avid reader and studier, but not very athletic. Loves his family and wants them to be together. Clever and resourceful.

Mother Pig, as cast :The Pigs’ mother. Loves her children very much, but also wants them to be responsible in the real world.

Big Bad Wolf, as cast: A cocky, ravenous, Wolf with a taste for pig. Believes himself to be misunderstood.

Other Roles:

Twit/Twoo – two owl puppets

Merchant – selling straw, sticks, and bricks

If there is a potential barrier that might prevent you from being able to audition, or make auditioning more difficult, we encourage you to let us know so we can work with you to dissolve it and make our space more accessible for artists of all abilities.

COVID – 19 WORKSAFE POLICY

All artists, staff and audiences on our premises are required to be fully vaccinated. Artists will be required to provide proof of vaccination to Carousel Theatre prior to commencing work. Other Covid-19 protocols, such as masking are planned to also be in place and evolve to reflect best recommended practices at the time of production. These protocols will be communicated clearly to artists at the time of offer, and be included in the rider to their contract.
