Casting Call

Carousel Theatre for Young People in Vancouver is holding auditions for their mainstage production of Bad Hats Theatre’s Peter Pan adapted by Fiona Sauder and Reanne Spitzer.

Auditions will take place in Vancouver in late May.

Deadline for submissions: Friday May 10 @ 5:00 PM

Contract dates: October 28, 2019 to January 5, 2020. Artists will be engaged under the terms of the Canadian Theatre Agreement.

We are seeking adult actors who are great movers and singers and who can read music and play instruments to a high calibre. Roles we are casting include:

  1. SMEE / SMEE – MR. SMEE is a grown up who has forgotten about Neverland. SMEE is a genial pirate, Captain Hook’s right-hand man. Plays piano.

 

MRS. DARLING / TINKERBELL / STARKEY – MRS. DARLING is the matriarch of the

Darling family. TINKERBELL is Peter Pan’s fairy. STARKEY is a pirate on the Jolly Roger.

Plays guitar, toy piano, and mandolin

 

MICHAEL DARLING – The youngest Darling child. Plays guitar and bass

 

JOHN DARLING – The middle Darling child. Plays piano

 

WENDY DARLING – The eldest Darling child

 

PETER PAN – A boy who never wants to grow up. Leader of the Lost Boys. Plays cajon and ukulele.

 

  1. DARLING / CAPTAIN HOOK – MR. DARLING is the patriarch of the Darling family. CAPTAIN HOOK is the leader of the pirates and the captain of the Jolly Roger; the sworn enemy of Peter Pan

 

PETER PAN – A boy who never wants to grow up. Leader of the Lost Boys. Plays cajon

and ukulele

 

SLIGHTLY / BARBECUE – SLIGHTLY is a Lost Boy, second-in-command to PETER. BARBECUE is the cook for Captain Hook’s crew. Plays piano and cajon

 

TOOTLES / NOODLER – TOOTLES is the youngest Lost Boy. NOODLER is a pirate on the Jolly Roger who has his hands on backwards. Plays toy piano, bass, and uke

 

CURLY / BILL JUKES – CURLY is a Lost Boy and twin to NIBS. BILL JUKES is a pirate on the Jolly Roger. Plays mandolin, piano, bass, and cajon.

NIBS / CHERRY – NIBS is a Lost Boy and twin to CURLY. CHERRY is a professional thief and a pirate on the Jolly Roger.

 

Please note that all characters can be played by any gender.
