Accessible Performances

Low Price Previews: Previews, usually the first one or two performances of a show, are the first chance for the cast and crew to perform the show in front of a live audience. As a Preview audience, you get to be some of the first people to see the show! Sometimes (rarely) there’s a minor technical hiccup or a minor change may be made before the official Opening.

Opening: The Opening celebrates the official start of a run. Sometimes we invite special guests and give speeches.

Relaxed Performances: Relaxed or Sensory-Friendly Performances are specifically crafted for people who benefit from a more relaxed theatre environment, including children with autism or sensory and/or communication disorders. These performances create a welcoming, accessible, and comfortable theatre environment for everyone. The performances feature modified sound and lighting effects, flexible general admission seating, an empathetic welcoming atmosphere, and pre-show family resources.

Upcoming Relaxed Performances include:

The Incredible Adventures of Mary Jane Mosquito– Sat Nov 2 @ 2 PM
Peter Pan– Sat Nov 30 @ 3 PM
BEEP – Sat Feb 15 @ 4 PM
The House at Pooh Corner – Sat Mar 7 @ 2 PM

Family Fridays: Some shows are designated Family Fridays, which are low-price evening performances that are available for everybody to enjoy. The price, but not the performance, is modified to help keep theatre accessible to families across Metro Vancouver.

The BEE Stage: Specially made for our littlest theatre-goers, Bee Stage plays are crafted for babies and toddlers. These gentle, interactive shows introduce babies and toddlers to theatre through storytelling and music in an intimate, welcoming studio space.
