Are you looking for a versatile space that can be used for your next rehearsal, workshop, meeting, or audition? Located in the bustling arts community of Granville Island, CTYP has three vibrant rehearsal studios available for community rentals.
An amazing location in a fantastic setting, plenty of natural light, hardwood flooring, and affordable rates makes this facility a great asset for arts and community groups, as well as emerging artists.
GENERAL AMENITIES: wi-fi, kitchenette, chairs, tables, hardwood floors, acoustic paneling, a convenient location on Granville Island.
Studio A
This studio features a hardwood sprung floor, acoustic paneling and floor-to-ceiling windows, and is equipped with an upright Yamaha piano, 25 folding chairs, and 4 6-foot tables.
Studio B
This studio features acoustic paneling and hardwood floors. It is outfitted with 20 folding chairs and 2 6-foot tables, as well as a Roland F120 Digital Piano. A great studio for rehearsals for smaller casts, auditions, classes, and workshops.
Note: Studio B is located upstairs and is not wheelchair accessible at this time. Studio B also has a waiting lounge that can be booked exclusively with your rental for an additional fee.
Studio C
This studio features acoustic paneling and hardwood floors. A popular space for auditions, classes and meetings. It is outfitted with 16 folding chairs and 2 4-foot tables.
Studio B - Waiting Lounge
A $25 flat fee allows the Studio B renter EXCLUSIVE access to the adjacent Studio B Waiting Lounge. Use this space as a holding area for your auditions, or a green room for your rehearsal.
Emerging Artist Residency Program
Are you an emerging artist? CTYP is committed to encouraging growth and development in emerging artists and emerging theatre collectives/companies. We recognize that as emerging artists, there are large financial barriers to pursuing the arts. CTYP is offering free rehearsal space in Studio C (16 person capacity) for emerging artists (subject to availability).

Do you offer discounted rates for theatre, arts or non-profit organizations?
Yes, we do offer special discounted rates for non-profit organizations and other theatre and arts organizations. Registered non-profit organizations, theatre industry members (ie. CAEA, PACT, ADC, GVPTA), and theatre and arts rentals have access to reduced rates. Theatre and arts rentals are defined by groups and individuals renting the space for rehearsals, auditions, readings, production meetings, and other non-commercial ventures. Events, workshops, classes, etc. that charge any kind of fee, admission or tuition are not eligible for the Theatre, Arts and Non-Profit rate.
How do I know if I need to pay the commercial rate?
Commercial rates apply to all groups, organizations and individuals to whom the above categories do not apply. This includes any events, workshops, classes, etc. that charge any kind of fee, admission or tuition, even if the renter otherwise qualifies for the categories above.
Can I use your studios as a theatre performance venue?
With the exception of CTYP’s participation as a mainstage venue at the Vancouver Fringe Festival each September, our studios are not available for performance rentals.
