Welcome to Improv! - with Syd Campbell

One week. Five Classes. One Show. $380.

This course, for 9 to 13 year olds, is the improv spring break camp the entire faculty wishes we’d had when we were growing up. Led by pro comedian and Syd Campbell (Gender I Hardly Know Them), this course will offer deep dives into the skills and delights of improvising comedy.

This weekly course is the perfect place to start for kids aged 9-13 who are interested in improv, comedy, and having fun on stage! The group will learn how to play fun characters, listen to each other’s offers and create fun scenes together. Students will practice their performance skills and be encouraged to riff, laugh and be silly throughout.

This is a great class for students who are comfortable on stage or still getting used to expressing themselves. The course will primarily focus on improv and theatre games, and the course will wrap up with a short, fun improv show supported by Syd. Fun guaranteed!

This five day camp for 13 to 17 year olds, is the improv spring break experience the entire faculty wishes we’d had when we were growing up. Led by Syd Campbell (Gender I Hardly Know Them) this course will offer deep dives into the skills and delights of improvising comedy.

Each day, the group will learn the skills and techniques of comedy-first improv, moving from the fundamentals to more advanced concepts as the week progresses, from how to make great offers to how to gracefully edit from one scene to another.

Students do not need to have comedy experience to take this class, and those that do have experience will have plenty to enjoy as well. If you have questions or comments about this (or any!) class feel free to reach out to classes@blindtigercomedy.ca – we’ll get right back to you.

Recommended age for this camp is 13- 17 years old.
