A Very Good Improv Summer Camp for Teens - Welcome to Improv!
July 20-24
1:00 pm -4:00 pm
One week. Five Classes. One Show. $380.
“With improv, it’s a combination of listening and not trying to be funny. “- KRISTEN WIIG
This course, for 13 to 17 year olds, is the improv summer camp the entire faculty wishes we’d had when we were growing up. Led by pro comedian and teen educator Syd Campbell, this course will offer deep dives into the skills and delights of improvising comedy.
Each day, the group will learn the skills and techniques of comedy-first improv, moving from the fundamentals to more advanced concepts as the week progresses, from how to make great offers to how to gracefully edit from one scene to another.
This class is part of a very fun, very glorious collaboration with our friends at Carousel Theatre! If you are a young person or a parent of a young person who loves comedy, theatre, drag or storytelling, check out their full season! Registration for this program is through us, Blind Tiger Comedy, but we’ve built out this whole cool initiative together. Thanks, Carousel!
Students do not need to have comedy experience to take this class, and those that do have experience will have plenty to enjoy as well. If you have questions or comments about this (or any!) class feel free to reach out to classes@blindtigercomedy.ca – we’ll get right back to you
Recommended age for this camp is 13- 17 years old.
